The torque converter is a common problem with the 4HP20 transmission. After uneven wear of the friction lining on the locking piston, vibrations can appear which in turn leads to the pump bushing breaking and oil leakage through the oil seal, as a result, the pump bushing can be wedged to the torque converter neck and bushing rotation, in this case the TQ repair also includes replacement of the neck.
